Mrs. Gertrude Mattingly , 64 of 2014 Cloverleaf Court died early this morning at Culver Hospital. A former Impex employee, Mrs. Mattingly retired in 1973. She was a member of Waynetown Christian Church. A resident of Crawfordsville the past 30 years, Mrs. Mattingly was graduated from Hillsboro HS in 1932. She was born Dec 18, 1915 in Montgomery County, a daughter of Ora and Ossie Swank Whitaker. She was married to Claude Mattingly, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Claude "Andy" Mattingly of Long Beach, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Edith) McDonald of Crawfordsville; two brothers, William Whitaker of Zionsville and Herman Whitaker of Waynetown and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
